Medical Recovery Services and Medical Billing Advocates of America will be holding a three-day open house event beginning on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 in honor of their new facility in Roanoke, Virginia. The event will celebrate the 20-year anniversary of Pat Palmer's founding MRS, as well as the release of the 2nd edition of her book on how to fight medical bills.

Roanoke, VA (PRWEB) July 15, 2014

Medical Recovery Services and Medical Billing Advocates of America, the nation’s first medical billing advocacy organizations, will be hosting a series of open house events on Wednesday, July 23 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Thursday, July 24 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturday, July 26 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at their new facility located at 3517 Brandon Avenue SW, Roanoke, Virginia 24018.

The new facility space, which is located on the second floor, boasts more than 12,000 square feet of space for the two organizations to continue to grow. MRS and MBAA assist consumers and Corporate America in verifying that any medical services rendered are billed according to true, accurate, fair and reasonable standards.

The celebration will commence with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, July 23. Inside the facility, guests will enjoy facility tours, company information, a variety of finger foods and beverages and the opportunity to meet with founder and CEO Pat Palmer and her team of expert medical billing advocates. An open invitation to area businesses and public officials is extended to Wednesday and Thursday’s events, which will conclude at 5 p.m.

A special day for consumers is planned for Saturday, July 26 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Consumer Day will feature a free medical bill review by MRS staff while you wait. Complementary food and beverages will be served to attendees and facility tours will be given throughout the day. The public will be able to enter into a grand prize drawing throughout the week of events to win a year’s worth of free medical bill reviews.

Additionally, Pat Palmer will hold the first official book signing for the new edition of her book MBAA’s Guide to Surviving Your Medical Bills, 2nd Edition: What You Need to Know Before You Pay a Dime. This book is a true account of Pat’s journey that led her to begin her business.

Her book also gives numerous examples of some of the erroneous charges she has encountered throughout her journey as the nation’s first medical billing advocate. Her book and the corresponding workbook, which helps teach the reader to spot abusive billing practices on their own, will be available for purchase throughout the three-day open house event.

MRS and MBAA’s open house series of events coincides with the 20 year business anniversary of Medical Recovery Services. Pat Palmer officially began MRS in response to numerous residents of the Roanoke Valley in Southwest Virginia who reached out to her for help in deciphering their medical bills. She also helped friends and family members achieve adequate health insurance reimbursement.

Today, Pat’s organizations employ more than 40 individuals with vast experience in the medical billing industry. MRS, a medical billing research facility, works to achieve “True & Accurate” charges and “Fair & Reasonable” prices on the medical bills they analyze.

The media is invited to attend this three-day event to join the festivities, meet Pat Palmer and learn more about the medical billing advocacy field. The public is urged to take part in all three days of events, especially Consumer Day, which will help illustrate just how much the public has been over-paying the healthcare industry.
