Target drops health coverage for part-time workers

Target Corp. announced Tuesday that it will discontinue its health insurance coverage for part-time workers, effective April 1. The Minneapolis-based retailer said that it will redirect part-time employees to seek coverage through health insurance exchanges. It will give $500 in cash to any employee who loses coverage as a result of the change, though the company noted that less than 10 percent of all Target employees participate in the part-time insurance plan.
